This was a game OLV should have easily won on the superb Leixlip astro pitch,but with an experimental line up, several players missing along with the fatigue from a very tough game less than two days earlier OLV were still the far more superior team, with tons more possession,great buildup play and countless efforts on goal.
Playing a very high line from their constant pressure OLV were caught out twice in quick succession before Anto Stanley found his goal touch again and pulled a goal back,soon after though Leixlip scored a third and just before the break good work from Noel Stapleton set up Mark Matthews who finished well.

The second half started exactly the same as the first ended,all the possession for OLV but they just couldn't find the killer instinct in front of goal,Leixlip scored their forth after bad decision making from stand in keeper Jonny Dutton.The rest of the game played out as it had all afternoon and even with a man sent to the bench by the referee OLV still had the upper hand,sadly for OLV it was just another one of those days and although Leixlip took their chances and finished them well I'm sure they will feel lucky and know that when OLV come back again the result won't be the same.Well done to all the players.
