Thursday night at Crumlin United astro pitch saw a good game played between Rialto and OLV.The fact this game was played just a few days after Christmas didn't take away any of the effort put in by both sides although it was OLV who had the lions share of possession and most efforts on goal.
Looking to get a win against this Rialto side that somehow got a pre-season win over OLV the ballyfermot team started well and applied the early pressure with all of the starting line-up playing well together, neither team could find the breakthrough on this very windy night and the half finished with the teams deadlocked.
Half-time 0-0
The second half started well for both teams but OLV were the side that looked most likely to get the opening goal but it wasn't so and the game was heading towards its closing stages when a couple of incidents lit the touchpaper to ensure the night had some fireworks, firstly Mark Elliot unleashed a cracking 25 yard effort that came back off the bar and was almost put back past the keeper by fellow sub Jonny Dutton, then a clash between two opposing midfielders left the ref with no choice but to reduce the teams to ten men, even so the game stayed level with OLV dominating but not finishing their chances.Once again every member of OLV gave everything and done their best, well done lads.
Full-time 0-0
