This was a cracking game played between two good footballing sides on Saturday evening at Leixlip United astro pitch,OLV started much better than the hosts and could have easily had a two goal lead within the first ten minutes as the whole team played some good football and had numerous chances, but as has been the problem recently they just couldn't get the ball in the Leixlip goal.OLV had nearly all the first half possession and were unlucky to find themselves a goal down at the break.
Half-time 1-0
The second half started with a slightly different OLV line up after the introductions of three substitutes and a formation re-jig from the manager and it looked likely to pay off as OLV once more controlled the game but just couldn't score the goals their play deserved and when Leixlip started to come into the game more and more they got a few shots on the OLV goal one of which was brilliantly saved point blank by keeper Dave Kelly ,this seemed to spur OLV back into life but Leixlip stole forward twice and scored two more goals and it looked as though OLV would finish the game without scoring when midfielder Alan Short smacked an absolute beauty in from about 25yards that he totally deserved for his brilliant display, the ref soon after blew for full time .
Full time 3-1
