Manager ;JOHN LOWNDES .

A poor result for OLV but plenty of positives as they totally outplayed Maelruans in the fist half and could or should have scored at least three more goals ,OLV were dominant from the first whistle every player was doing a great job and didnt give Maelruans a second on the ball ,the home teams good play paid off after 18 mins when Marky Matthews drilled in a low ball from a corner and big Martin Dunican was on hand to smash the ball into the net from 10 yards to go a goal in front ,but as has been the case so often OLV lost concentration and conceeded almost immediately to let the Tallaghfornians draw level ,OLV didnt let the equalizer affect them too much and they went straight back on the attack and could have got a couple more goals only for bad decision making and top defending fom Maelruans to keep it at 1-1 but OLV did re-take the lead when Matthews got another assist this time crossing for the impressive James McCabe to bravely head home his first goal for the club,Maelruans got a huge break from the ref for their second goal as he totally ignored an attacker standing at least 5 yards off-side and when the ball was played through he allowed play and Mealruans got their goal.

HALF-TIME 2-2

OLV manager Lowndes made three substitutions at the break and the new players settled into the game and the team continued where they had left off in the first half , bossing the game in defense and midfield and looking dangerous on the attack but disaster struck  after 55 mins when two errors allowed Maelruans score two goals in two minutes ,they didnt give up though and still brought the game to the away side but were caught out on the break and conceeded a fifth after 70 mins ,it was beginning to look a disastrous afternoon when Lowndes had to make more changes as three players had to leave the field injured but they pulled a goal back when Matthews scored a super goal from a free-kick to cap off a very good game , OLV could have scored a couple more in the very late stages but Maelruans keeper pulled off some quality saves to keep his team in the lead and finish the game with 3 points .

FULL-TIME  3-5
