This was definately a game of two halves as OLV just couldnt get going against a new look Loughshinney side and were struggling to keep hold of the ball and string any decent moves together to mount any attacks so it was inevitable that the home side took the lead after 15 minutes when OLV failed to clear their lines ,the game was fairly even for a while but after 35minutes Loughshinney doubled the lead with a similar goal to the opener , towards the end of the half OLV started to get to grips with the pace of the play and had a few chances but they couldnt pull a goal back before the break .




Halftime 2-0


John Lowndes made three changes at halftime and the fresh legs made a difference straight away as OLV totally controlled the game and could have scored from many efforts but the home side defended well and the keeper made some good saves ,OLV did pull a goal back after 70 minutes when some good play on the right wing saw the ball crossed into the area and Martin Dunican got a nice touch to Willie Murphy who finished well just outside the six yard box  ,it was definately game on now as OLV could sense another goal or two and the shellshocked home side just couldnt get themselves on the ball for more than two passes ,the equalizer came with five minutes to go when OLV won a free kick about 35 yards from goal and skipper Jamesy Coates swung in a great ball and once again Dunican got a vital touch as Jonny Dutton nipped in behind the defence to head the ball past the advancing keeper and into the net,the game ended too soon for OLV as surely they would have got a winner with more time.
