Not the way OLV would have envisaged starting the new season, a loss to an old rival, but there are some positives to be taken from last Sundays encounter.
The strikeforce got off to a good start for the season, netting three goals in a performance that is probably best forgotten. If OLV can net three goals while playing below par than surely we will be the winning side a little more often this season.
Deco Byrne got his first goals of the season with a brace and Noel Stapleton added to the total by netting one of his own.
Still lots of time to get things going before the season gets into full flow and lots of time to gel, a win next time out and all the negatives will be forgotten.
