Portrane 5 OLV 3 (K Hope, P Heary Pen, D Kelly)

Once again the gods conspired against the now unluckiest team to ever adorn a sports kit.

A penalty, one goal from play and three (yes 3) goalkeeping errors from Gavin (casper) O'Brien, gave Portrane a comprehensive victory and left OLV reeling after another 3 points were needlessly given away to yet another opposing team.

Goals from (Young) Kevin Hope, Pat Heary and Dave Kelly were all to no avail, except to show the now 'goal shy' strikeforce how its done of course. A superfast reaction from the oldest member of the OLV squad saw his header find the net after a Derek Dunne drive (shot) crossed the face of the goalmouth. Pat (CF) Heary once again converted his penalty in style and even though the keeper got his hand to it, it was always finding the net. New signing Georgie Best got an assist in only his second game after being fed by Noel (Game for a laugh) Stapleton, he delivered a beautiful ball from the byline that was neatly tucked away by Dave (The Gaffer sometimes) Kelly.

Martin Mcgrane set Dave Kelly up for a second but a block from a Portrane defender deflected the ball past the post. It was a good performance all round by most of the squad. Philip Lowndes had a solid game along with James Coates in central defence. Gerry Maher also put in a solid performance at the back.
