MANAGER ;JOHN LOWNDES

Olv started this game with a new formation designed to stop the opposition from playing their attacking style of football and it was certainly working for the opening twenty five minutes as it was the home team who controlled the play and kept Ballsbridge pinned back into their own half  as every member of Olv did their job extremely well and even could have been leading by a couple of goals as Marky Matthews was in fine form ,he had one effort unluckily ruled out for off-side and had another effort clip the bar from distance ,Ballsbridge are a good side though and inevitably started to get a grip on the game as they let Olv play and went on the counter -attack which is how they got the first goal as Olv's high back line allowed the away team to get in behind and score on the exposed home keeper who could do little to stop the goal ,Olv continued to press and could have scored a couple of headers as Martin Dunican and James McCabe both came close but unfotunately Ballsbridge held firm and Olv conceeded two more goals in similar fashion to the first before the break.

HALFTIME 0-3

For the first time this season manager John Lowndes had a full compliment of players to choose from and he made a couple of half time substitutions, the fresh legs enabled Olv to keep the pressure on Ballsbridge and they looked likely to pull back a goal but as in the first half the away team handled the relentless pressure and attacks to keep Olv at bay ,as the game wore on all remaining substitutes were brought into the match and the re-shuffled side continued to hold the lions share of play but as has been the case in a lot of Olv's games this season the last fifteen minutes seem to take its toll and as Olv got tired Ballsbridges' players had that extra bit left in the tank and were able to grab a couple more goals late on.

Fulltime 0-5

Another dissapointing result but the first win of the season can't be far away and when it comes hopefully it can lead to a good run of results.
P.s
Congratulations to Pat Heary on being appointed assistant manager.
