OLV -6 - 0 -Rivermeade fc (J.Coates ,M.McCabe ,M.Matthews2 ,P.Lowndes ,N.Stapleton)

OLV squad ;Wayne Gibbons ,Anto Kelly ,Martin Dunican ,Dave Kelly ,Mick Collins ,James Coates(C) ,Mark McCabe ,Phil Lowndes ,Garreth Donovan ,Mark Matthews ,Noel Stapleton ,Jonny Dutton ,Paddy McEvoy ,Rory(brian)Keogh. Manager ; John Lowndes. OLV got their goal difference up a few notches today as they put six past a depleted Rivermeade who started the game with only seven players ,the first goal was quite a while in coming as OLV seemed to rush and have a lot of wayward shots instead of relaxing and taking their time in the build up play ,but when it came the opener was well worth the wait as captain Jamesy Coates took the ball from the halfway line beat a few players and scored from the edge of the box with the outside of his right boot ,this goal certainty calmed things down as Marky Matthews weighed in with a fine goal followed by a Mark McCabe long range strike ,Phil Lowndes scored a nice goal followed by another Marky Matthews effort and the scoring was topped of by Noely Stapleton with another of his trademark calm finishes,OLV could have scored five or six more but bad finishing and passing instead of shooting kept the scoreline somewhat reasonable until the referee done the decent thing and blew up a couple of minutes early... Fair play and well done to Rivermeade who fought until the final whistle and didn't let their heads drop in what must have been a very difficult morning.
