OLV 35s- 1(M.McCabe) -Baldoyle utd 2

OLV squad; Wayne Gibbons, Garreth Donovan, James Coates(c), Philip Lowndes, Mick Collins, Dave Delgarno, Stewy Houlahan, Mark McCabe, Mark Matthews, Rory Keogh, Noel Stapleton, Jonny Dutton, Derek Dunne, Paddy McEvoy, Darren Ronan. Manager; John Lowndes. A great game played on a very muddy pitch saw Baldoyle snatch an undeserved victory at Markievcz park on Sunday morning,OLV played a great game and kept one of the league's top teams under wraps for most of this bruising encounter,Mark McCabe opened the scoring after 50 mins with a cracking effort from 20 odd yards but OLV's lead didn't last too long as the ref awarded a free kick(that never should have been)to the visitors that wasn't cleared properly and was somehow bundled into the home side's net to make it all square with 25 mins left,OLV dug deep and played some good football but just couldn't score the vital goal ,the game looked to be heading for a draw but a mistake in the home defence allowed Baldoyle to run through and score a goal to make it 1-2 with only minutes left on the clock, fair play to OLV though as they didn't lie down and really went for it but the Baldoyle keeper was on his game and made numerous saves and blocks to ensure an away win. Full-time 1-2 Well done to the entire OLV team and management for today's game on a terrible pitch, hopefully we can get back to winning ways in our next outing.
