OLV had an impressive win over Rivermeade in their latest league game at Markievicz Park. The home team had their counterparts under pressure from the off. Rivermeade were brave and battled to keep OLV at bay in the early exchanges but it was inevitable from the off, that this was going to be OLVs day.
Goals from Noel Stapleton, Derek Dunne, Gordon Farrell and Rory Keogh sealed a most comfortable win for the home team. Rivermeade were gifted a goal when a parried ball wasn't cleared but they couldn't really muster up anything else to combat the OLV threat. On the day OLV could have bagged many more goals, with many chances flying just wide and more than a few being stopped on the line by a very in form Rivermeade goalkeeper. Mick Collins and Mark Matthews probably came as close to adding to the goals tally as anyone else in a scoreline that didn't really flatter the home team.
This was a really fine display from the entire OLV camp, who were far too strong for the previously unbeaten Rivermeade. Once again this week there are many players who could be mentioned for their excellent role in another win.
FULL TIME 4-1
