Wardy's Bit of Craic Tornament

FINAL:     Daves Army 2 (R. O'Conner, D. Winters) Chasers 2 (S. Grogan 2)

               (Daves Army win on penalties)

In a very tough encounter Chasers and Daves Army battled out a 2-2 draw in the final of Wardy's Inaugural Memorial Tournament at the Ballyfermot Leisure Centre on Saturday.  It had looked like Daves Army were going to go through the tournament with a 100% record after Ronan O'Conner and Davy Winters had scored in the much anticipated final.

But tournament top scorer Stephen Grogan (12 Goals) netted twice to bring about a penalty shootout.  It was however, Daves Army who brought home the Trophy with a win on penalties and were the team on the day that were most deserving.  Daves Army were also the only team to remain unbeaten as they saw off the challenges of some very skillful and well organised sides.

Well done to all for their participation.

Many thanks to the Ballyfermot Leisure Centre and all of their staff for allowing us to use their wonderful facilities (free of charge) and we would like to ask everyone in the community to give their support by using the pitches at the centre in the future.
