St Pats Phoenix 0 OLV 0

OLV held off the challenge of St Pats/Phoenix at lanesbrough on a damp Sunday morning.  The damp pitch hampered either sides ability to knock the ball around and play proper football although St Pats/Phoenix had the best of the early exchanges.

The home side had by far the best of the first half, creating quite a few chances and this should have seen them go in front on at least a couple of occasions.

OLV had the entire defence to thank for keeping Pats at bay with some timely interceptions and then a superb stop by keeper Rory (Safe Hands) Keogh on 25 mins ensuring that the score remained 0-0 at the break.

OLV came more into it in the second half but were limited to very few chances, Paddy McEvoy had the St Pats goalkeeper at full stretch after some neat interplay between himself, Anto Maher and Darren Ronan which allowed him in on goal but the angle was always going to be difficult.

Rory Keogh had to make another vital stop in the second half to keep OLV in the game. It finished 0-0 and will go down as a good point taken from a formidable opponent

There were a couple of memorable moments to look back on from a couple of OLV players, firstly with Kevin Hope (once again) picking on the youngsters and picking up a yellow card for his troubles and then John Dutton showing us some 'Unbelieveable Tekkers' after he came on as a sub.
