OLV 4 (M. Dunican, K. Reid, N. Stapleton, D. Dunne) Urban Celtic 1

Urban Celtic truly had a memorable shock in last Sundays Clifford Cup encounter at Markevizc Park. With the expectation of Urban having an easy time in sending OLV out of the cup at the first hurdle, it was to be the exact opposite as OLV made light work of their higher division opponents.

The OLV scoring machine continued to impress with no less than four players getting their names on the score-sheet. Noel Stapleton claims his goal is the main contender for the goal of the season and I am sure there are many who will argue with him. OLV have been very impressive of late and this game was testament to that claim as OLV ran out, rather convincing winners.

Derek Dunne claimed his first of the season, Martin Dunican claimed his second in as many games and supersub Keith Reid once again scored after coming in from the bench.

Derek Ward impressed in goal on his return from injury and was one of many who made a fantastic contribution against the higher ranking team.

Could there be a long Clifford Cup run on this season? Based on this performance there could well be!
