After 3 months without a game we were finally back in action on Sunday. We started the game looking very very rusty and found ourselves 1-0 down early on, after the referee had not spotted an obvious handball inside the box by the Phoenix Rovers scorer (Memories of Thierry Henry).
We struggled to find any momentum and were fortunate to be level at 1-1 soon after, a superbly taken corner by James Coates was inadvertently turned into the net by a Rovers defender (Of course it would have went in anyway). Soon after, a beautifully executed top corner penalty by Pat Heary had us in front 2-1 and from there we held onto our lead in dogged fashion. Some stout defending and some good goalkeeping from Gavin O'Brien keeping us ahead.
Chances were missed at both ends with the post coming to the rescue of both teams and a dodgy offside decision cancelling out a well crafted goal for OLV. James Rattigan had the chance to finish the game off but alas missed a real opportunity (Personally, I think it was a definite bobble) and so, luckily we came away from the game with all 3 points.
